Candle batch calculator
Scale your candle recipe to any batch
Plan a pour for any number of candles, or work backwards from the wax you already have. You'll see how much to melt and how many bottles of fragrance oil to buy.

Planning a batch
Once you have a recipe for one candle, a batch is multiplication, plus a small allowance for the wax that sticks to the pouring pitcher and the odd spill. Five percent is a common allowance for small batches.
Wax to melt = wax per candle × candles × (1 + extra %)
Fragrance oil = wax to melt × fragrance load
Example: 24 candles at 6 oz of wax each with 5% extra is 151.2 oz of wax, or 9.45 lb. At an 8% load you need 12.1 oz of fragrance oil, so one 16 oz bottle covers it.
How many candles will a bag of wax make?
Switch to Use the wax I have. A 10 lb bag is 160 oz. With 6 oz per candle plus 5% extra, each candle takes 6.3 oz, so the bag makes 25 candles with 2.5 oz to spare.
Weigh fragrance oil, don't measure it by volume
Fragrance oils vary in density, so a fluid ounce of one oil can weigh noticeably more or less than an ounce of another. Pour the oil into a container on your scale for consistent results.
